Matcha Magic Smoothie

Now I will be the first to admit that I do not like to drink my meals…
I like to cut them with a steak knife!

But as the weather is warming up, smoothies are moving in…as afternoon snacks, or course. As a general rule, I do not use water or ice in my smoothies as I like a less foamy, more creamy texture. I also only use frozen bananas.

The matcha powder I used in this recipe is from Jade Leaf. Matcha is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed green tea leaves that are mostly produced in Japan. It is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, E and polyphenols. It contains a unique combination of caffeine and L-theanine so you may feel a calm alertness. I find this is the perfect combination for inspired work.

Ingredients:

8-12 oz of your favorite milk

1/4 teaspoon matcha powder

2 dates chopped (or a tablespoon maple syrup)

1 frozen banana

Blend really well and enjoy!
