Mel Russel at the Dolores Farmer’s Market
Mel Russel has been at the Dolores Farmer´s Market for seven years. That alone deserves an award!
She chose the Dolores Market because she enjoys the atmosphere and family friendly space. This year will be the same even though the location is different, there will be loads of space for kids and families to enjoy the afternoon into evening.
Mel´s table will have jams and jellies as well as home grown produce such as tomatoes, cucumbers, plums, apricots, squash, and eggplant. You might even catch some of her baked goods if she has extra time.
She is aiming to be consistent and dedicated to setting up regularly so you can enjoy her corner at the market.
The best way to support Mel is by returning empty jars. She also would love for you to reach out if you have fruit you cannot harvest. She is happy to do it for you and trade for produce or jam.
When she isn´t working she loves being outside fishing, hiking, camping and gardening.
The market starts Wednesday, June 5th 4-7 pm in Joe Rowell Park. Be sure to stop by and say hi to Mel this summer.
